The 2017 stats are in

OVER $36,000 AND A MOUNTAIN OF TOYS WAS RAISED THROUGH THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOY RUN IN 2017, but sometimes it's hard to know just how much of a difference that truly makes. Now that the stats are in we can celebrate knowing that thousands of families in the Hunter, Central and Mid North Coast benefitted directly from the proceeds of the Toy Run.

"Our recorded assistance showed that we helped 4,207 families with toys and gifts this year - most of these families also received food hampers. The estimate of gifts distributed across the region was 21,000. These gifts were largely donated by the Toy Run and Kmart Wishing Tree with support also from Newcastle Permanent branches and a number of corporate workplace collections." - Nicole Jenkinson, Fundraising & Public Relations Manager Hunter, Central & Mid North Coast - The Salvation Army

A total of 550 riders officially registered to take part in the 40th Anniversary Toy Run, more than double that have pre-registered in previous years, with an estimated 10,000 riders and pillions participating on the day. Almost 75% were local to the Newcastle region and 40% were first time riders and pillions.

“I ride to support the organisation in their excellent work. And to be a supportive member of our biking community. I am taking my son to show him what we do and to be mindful of others and to be a kind and supportive member of our community.” - Alison Reeve, Newcastle

From the bottom of our hearts, we'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved. From our Riders and Pillions, to the Spectators, Sponsors, Volunteers and Community support in the lead up and on the day. Thank you also to our Committee for making the Toy Run possible. Without your help we couldn't be as successful and help so many in need.
